2001 CAT 315BL Excavator 6,223 hours (meter works) – Serial#03AW01639. I have owned this machine since 2012 and put300 hours on it cleaning up storm debris on my property. This machine is mechanically sound. Just had a 2,000 hour service performed at Thompson CAT along with new CAT chains and sprockets. Grouser pads are at 50%. A previous owner replaced the front glass with plexi-glass. It holds the water and wind out and the way it is right now has been good enough for my use. All other glass is fine. Also the air conditioner may or may not work. I havent had it checked but it does squeal when you turn it on and it doesnt blow cold. Batteries are 2 years old. Starts and runs just fine. Has slight oil and hydraulic leaks (like they all do). I have kept the cylinders and turntable greased. All functions and gauges work normally. It is a great work machine that you can run all day and not have to worry about getting scratched. I have kept it in the barn when not in use. I have told you about all of the problems that I know of or have encountered since I bought it. If I didnt have to pay for school for my sons, I sure wouldnt sell it. My loss is your gain.
