Elk Forest Farms, Inc. Is pleased to offer a used 1985 John Deere 490 excavator up for sale. The S/N is listed above. There are 4805 hours on this machine. I bought this machine last fall from a landowner that was having some issues with the machine and he did not want to deal with them. He had the machine for 15 years. When I got the machine we had to flush the fuel tank, replace all filters, replace two injectors, rebuild and rebuild the rotary manifold. The engine starts easy and runs out strong. The 4-cylinder John Deere engine is turbo-charged. The engine compartment and hyd. Pump areas are clean. The machine has the long dipper stick, manual thumb, and manual Wain-Roy quick coupler. I do not see any welds or cracks on the boom or dipper stick of this machine. We painted the undercarriage to spruce up the appearance also. I believe the machine to be a good older machine. It looks the previous owners took care of it because it is not all banged and ruffed up. Since all items I sell are used, it is very hard to guarantee anything. So all sales are as-is, where-is. I do my very best to fully describe all areas on the item including the good, the bad, and the ugly. I will make time to meet with whoever wants to come and view the equipment. I have a local third party heavy equipment repair company that is not associated with Elk Forest Farms, Inc. That can be hired by you to come and give you their representation of the item if you are too far away to come and inspect. Please contact me for further details on that service.
